Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Ana graduated from Central University of Venezuela with a bachelor’s in International Affairs in 1985. She worked in her family’s insurance brokerage as an insurance agent until 1987 when she moved to Kiev, Ukraine to pursue studies in International Economics, obtaining a master’s degree in Economics from the State University of Kiev in 1992. She moved to Ottawa in 1993, working as an Administrative Specialist for various financial service agencies and at OPES Family Advisor as an Administrative Associate since 2020. Ana has been involved in groups to welcome new immigrants, especially from Latin-American countries, giving them orientation in how to adapt to the Canadian way of living, how to deal with Canadian weather, and the faster way to get a job, putting them in contact with numerous government and non-government organizations that have policies, plans, and projects to help immigrants.
